MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) — Working out can be a pesky task and there are many different ways to keep yourself fit. One local man is sharing his story about using hypnotherapy to stay fit.

“I just want to be healthier. That’s it,” said Adam Jacobson, client at Focal Point Training.

Nine months ago, Adam Jacobson was in search for a new way to work out.

“Over the past five years, I gained like 20 pounds that was demotivating,” said Jacobson.

He went out looking for a program, that wouldn’t change who he was.

“I still want to go out, I still want to have fun, go out to dinner but I want to be healthier by doing it,” said Jacobson.

That’s when he met personal trainer Tyler Smith with Focal Point Training in Madison. The gym at Focal Point Training looks like a normal gym. But if you look closely, you’ll find black dot stickers also known as focal points. Focal Points are part of the hypno-therapy offered by focal point fitness. Smith offers a 12 session hypnotherapy program.

“Hypnotic workouts are more about creating a heightened sense of awareness and helping the individual create a narrative or focus for the individual themselves,” said Tyler Smith, Focal Point Training owner.
